Schill talking to Sox…

More blog updates from just-turned-free-agent pitcher Curt Schilling today on his ongoing discussions with the Red Sox and other teams on his radar.

Things continue to move along. I spoke with a St. Louis ESPN affiliate today. Still a very passionate fan base out there and it was pretty cool of them to act as excited as they did about the potential of playing there.

I also wanted to mention something else. For anyone interested please just assume things are happening with Boston without me mentioning it. Theo and I have spoken more than once but there will be no details or updates of these discussions. I am in contact with the Sox and talking.

Received a call from another of the teams on our list yesterday and played phone tag with 2 teams that had made prior inquiries as well.

Schilling also wrote that he would like to post the letter that the Sox front office sent to him when Boston first pursued the veteran righthander in Arizona in 2003, provided that Theo Epstein and Larry Lucchino are OK with sharing the correspondence.

Yesterday, Schilling posted that he had been in contact with three teams during his first full day as a free agent. Houston Astros GM Ed Wade confirmed that he made contact with Curt on Wednesday while Brewers GM Doug Mevin also plans to contact Schilling.

In addition to the Red Sox, Schilling previously named a dozen other teams he would consider playing for: the Indians, Tigers, Angels, Mets, Phillies, Braves, Dodgers, Padres, Diamondbacks, Cubs, Cardinals, and Brewers.
