Curt and Shonda Schilling will be hosting “Medfield 4 the Military,” a private holiday dinner for selected military families who have a loved one serving the country or who have lost a loved one during military combat in Iraq or Afghanistan.
Curt Schilling is asking for your support in this event by donating gifts or money this holiday season.
“We are trying to fill in the gap of a parent or a spouse not around during the holiday season and hoping companies and fans will step up and donate product or money that we can use as gifts at this holiday dinner,” Schilling said in a statement released today. “The gifts will be handed out to various families from Massachusetts who have loved ones serving our country or have lost a loved one while serving our country in Iraq or Afghanistan. We are sharing the Christmas spirit from our small town of Medfield.”
Fifty families will be chosen to receive the donations at the Medfield event.
On December 22nd the town of Medfield will host the 1st Annual Medfield 4 the Military Christmas event.
The event has been organized to give Christmas to families who have lost loved ones during the war, have had loved ones injured, or have family currently serving overseas. The corporate response has been absolutely overwhelming. From Microsoft to Reebok, to Electronic Arts, Hasbro and many many others we’ve received a ton of support.
Any Massachusetts based families interested in attending please contact us at the email address given below. We are nearly full and limiting the amount of participants this first year to insure that Santa has enough presents and we have enough time to create a truly memorable and fun holiday experience for families who truly deserve to be given a great Christmas.
Arrangements for gift donations can be made via email at Medfield4theMilitary@yahoo.com.
Anyone wishing to give money for the event can send their donation to:
