Opening spring pitching assignments; today’s video

It was a busy day in Fort Myers, with Terry Francona, David Ortiz, and Mike Lowell holding press conferences, Coco Crisp talking about wanting to be an everyday player, and Manny Ramirez arriving on time, as he had said he would.

Most of the newsworthy tidbits were covered by the Globe’s Amalie Benjamin and Gordon Edes stationed in the Fort, but here is one tidbit we can pass along.

In his press briefing today, Francona laid out the Sox’ pitching plan for the first five spring games:

Also likely to pitch: Kyle Snyder
  • Feb. 28 vs. Northeastern (6:05 p.m. at City of Palms Park)

  • Feb. 29 vs. Twins (7:05 p.m. at Hammond Stadium)
