Sox unable to respond in bottom of 4th

After allowing the Angels to take a 3-0 lead in the top of the fourth, the Red Sox were unable to muster a response in the bottom half of the frame, despite stranding a pair of baserunners: David Ortiz, who advanced all the way to third after reaching on a base-hit single, and J.D. Drew, who reached on a fielder’s choice that wiped out Mike Lowell (single to right) on the force-out at second.

After Manny Ramirez, who was greeted by a growing chorus of boos, recorded the first out on a fly ball to left and Drew’s fielder’s choice victimized Lowell on the force-out at second, Jed Lowrie flied out to left to end the inning, leaving two aboard.

After four innings, it’s still Angels, 3-0.
