Boone’s career may be over

KISSIMMEE, Fla. – Third baseman Aaron Boone, most known for his 11th-inning walkoff homer in Game 7 of the 2003 American League Championship series against Tim Wakefield, told reporters this morning at the Astros camp that he will undergo open heart surgery soon to replace a damaged aortic valve in his heart.

Boone was slated to be the Astros’ starting third baseman.

Boone was unsure of his future in baseball.
