The teams combined for 25 hits, and New Britain scored four runs in the top of the ninth before their rally fell short. Aaron Bates went 3 for 4 with two runs and a double, lifting his batting average to .359. Reid Engel went 3 for 4 with two doubles and three RBI. Argenis Diaz went 3 for 4 with two runs and an RBI.

Kristopher Negron went 2 for 4 with an RBI. Jonathan Hee went 1 for 2 with a double and a walk. Luis Segovia went 2 for 3.

The Drive’s eight hits were collected by eight different players, and David Mailman’s double was the lone extra-base hit. Oscar Tejada went 1 for 3 with an RBI. Leandro Marin struck out three in two innings of perfect relief in his first appearance of the season.
