Red Sox manager Terry Francona revealed his rotation for the first five days of exhibition games today. What is interesting, at least somewhat, is that it sets up either Josh Beckett (on one extra day or rest) or Jon Lester (on normal rest) to start on Opening Day against the Yankees on April 4 in Boston.
The Sox got though their entire session today despite a drizzle that turned into a deluge around 12:30 p.m.
“It wasn’t the best day ever, but we got everything in,” Francona said.
Adrian Beltre (right ankle) was back on the field and Mike Lowell did some drills at first base.
“Actually pretty good,” Francona said when asked how Lowell looked at first base. “It was pretty easy for him.”
