Hermida feeling fine after tune-up

As the Sox were swatting the Nats 7-2, Jeremy Hermida journeyed down scenic Edison Ave to get six at-bats in the minor-league games.

No statistics were available — “I was on base four times,” Hermida reported — but the important thing is that Hermida felt fine and his right hamstring is no longer an issue.

That’s bad news for Josh Reddick, who will be optioned down tomorrow despite hitting .404 for the spring with 10 RBI and 12 extra-base hits. But he could have hit .700 and not made the team as the outfield was set before camp started.
