What would you do as commissioner?

The game is not until late tonight. So in the interest of having something to talk about here on Extra Bases, let me pose this question to you:

If you were commissioner of baseball for one day and had the power to impose one change in the game, what would you do?

Respond in the comments section, please. Try and be realistic because making all the tickets free really wouldn’t work. Come up with something actually possible that would improve the game.

Here is mine: Rosters could expand to 40 in April, not September. To me, it’s foolish that just when the games count the most, some teams have 25 or 26 players and others have 37 or 38. Teams play under one set of rules all season and then suddenly have three pinch runners and four lefties in the bullpen It makes no sense.

Expanded rosters are needed in April when pitchers are not stretched out and roles have yet to be defined. Come May 1, it’s 25 players for the rest of the year.

What would be your change? We’ll publish the best answers tomorrow.
