Padres call up Anthony Rizzo

Anthony Rizzo, one of the four players the Red Sox traded for Adrian Gonzalez, will be in the lineup for the Padres tomorrow.

Rizzo, 21, is hitting .365 with 16 homers and 20 doubles. He has a 1.159 OPS in 52 games.

A brief story on what kind of person Rizzo is.

Before he was traded, the Boston chapter of the BBWAA named him the minor league player of the year. Rizzo, despite having been traded to a different organization, showed up to collect his award at a banquet in January and could not have been more gracious.

This is also a young man who overcame cancer in 2008. The Padres start a three-game series at Fenway June 20.
