Red Sox prospect Duarte suspended

This from Major League Baseball:

Boston Red Sox minor league right-handed pitcher Marco Duarte has received a 50-game suspension without pay after testing positive for an amphetamine. The suspension of Duarte, who is currently on the roster of the Double-A Portland Sea Dogs of the Eastern League, is effective immediately.

Duarte, 25, is in his first year in the organization after being obtained from the Houston Astros in December as part of a Rule 5 Draft trade.

Duarte had a 2.12 earned run average in 12 appearances for Salem and Portland.
