Top 9th: Yankees 4, Red Sox 0 – Jackie Bradley had two of Boston’s four hits, as he singled in the ninth. Sox relievers Andrew Bailey, Joel Hanraghan, Clayton Mortensen and Andrew Miller all held the status quo. Miller walked two in the 8th inning.
Bottom 6th: Yankees 4, Red Sox 0 – The Red Sox are now in the reliever phase of the game. Andrew Bailey got through an inning and Joel Hanrahan is pitching the sixth.
Bottom 5th: Yankees 4, Red Sox 0 – Doubront out after 4-1/3 innings. He allowed four runs, seven hits and was replaced by Andrew Bailey. Kind of a step back for Doubront.
Top 5th: Yankees 4, Red Sox 0 – Nunez, who will likely replace Derek Jeter as the Opening Day shortstop, booted Drew Sutton’s grounder.
Bottom 4th: Yankees 4, Red Sox 0 – Drew Sutton made an error on a Brett Gardner grounder and Eduwardo Nunez singled, but Doubront got out of the jam. Kevin Youkilis struck out for the second time.
Bottom 3rd: Yankees 4, Red Sox 0 – Doubront allowed a single to Jayson Nix, but no further damage.
Top 3rd: Yankees 4, Red Sox 0 – The Red Sox put a couple of runners on base when Daniel Nava worked a walk and Brock Holt singled with two outs, but the Sox couldn’t muster enough for a run.
Bottom 2nd: Yankees 4, Red Sox 0 – Rough inning for Doubront who allowed five hits, a walk and a wild pitch. A Jayson Nix sac fly got the first run in after Juan Rivera singled and Ben Francisco singled (yes these are your 2013 Yankees). After Chris Stewart singled in the second run, Thomas Neal and Melky Mesa singled and Doubront uncorked a wild pitch to score the third run.
Bottom 1st: Red Sox 0, Yankees 0 – Felix Doubront struck out two and retired the wounded Yankees in order in the first inning.
Top 1st: Red Sox 0, Yankees 0 – Here we go again, Jackie Bradley Jr. doubled to leftcenter with two outs in the first off Vidal Nuno.
