FORT MYERS, Fla. — If you are in the Fort Myers area on Monday, plenty of notable Red Sox players will be in the minor league games that start at 1 p.m.
Felix Doubront will be pitching one of the games. And most of the regular position players will get some at-bats.
The Sox have three Single A games on the back fields at Jet Blue Park as Salem, Greenville and Lowell will host teams from the Baltimore organization.
There’s no charge. Just park in the back (off to the left of the main stadium) and walk over. Be advised, there are no concessions. And don’t expect to get autographs, either. But you can get a good up close look at some prominent players.
• Meanwhile, not sure whether anybody will find this interesting. But here are the brands of cleats that prominent Red Sox players will be wearing this season:
New Balance (1): Dustin Pedroia.
Reebok (1): David Ortiz.
Under Armour (3): Jackie Bradley Jr., Jonny Gomes, Joel Hanrahan.
Mizuno (3): Jose Iglesias, David Ross, Junichi Tazawa.
Nike (21): Alfredo Aceves, Andrew Bailey, Daniel Bard, Craig Breslow, Clay Buchholz, Ryan Dempster, Stephen Drew, Felix Doubront, Jacoby Ellsbury, John Lackey, Ryan Lavarnway, Jon Lester, Will Middlebrooks, Andrew Miller, Franklin Morales, Clayton Mortensen, Mike Napoli, Daniel Nava, Jarrod Saltalamacchia, Koji Uehara, Shane Victorino.
At some point later this season, we’ll check out gloves and bats.
