Pats-Dolphins flexed out of primetime

The NFL announced today that the Patriots-Dolphins game on Dec. 6 has been moved from 8:20 p.m. to 1 p.m.

A Vikings-Cardinals game featuring Brett Favre and the defending NFC champs takes its place. The Vikings are 9-1, and Cardinals are 7-3.

That one was the last game on the Patriots schedule slated for prime-time. And if the Dolphins beat win in Buffalo against a dysfunctional Bills team on Sunday, and the Patriots lose to the Saints on Monday night, it will provide Miami the chance to pull even in the AFC East.

Now, New England could have another game flexed into the Sunday night spot. But thumbing down the rest of the schedule, it’s easy to see that’s unlikely. Jacksonville, hardly a ratings grabber of a team, is the only opponent left with a plus-.500 record after Miami.
