The Patriots have reached an agreement with former first-round pick Gerard Warren. The move was first reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter but was confirmed by Bill Belichick during his post-draft press conference.
A 10-year veteran, Warren spent the last three years with Oakland, starting all 32 games over the past two seasons. Last year, Warren, the third overall pick in 2001 (drafted by Cleveland) recorded 35 tackles and two sacks.
Warren is a former Florida Gator — not surprising given this weekend’s events.
The 6-foot-4, 330 pound Florida native was released by the Raiders in March.
