Brady named AFC offensive player of the week (again)

For the second consecutive week and 17th time in his career, Patriots’ QB Tom Brady has been named the AFC’s Offensive Player of the Week.

Brady was 21-for-29 for 326 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions in New England’s 45-3 win over the Jets on Monday night.

He got the nod for his Thanksgiving Day performance against the Lions as well, a day when he earned a perfect passer rating.

Since the NFL instituted the weekly awards in 1984, the Colts’ Peyton Manning has been honored the most times, at 20; Dan Marino – 18, Brady – 17, Brett Favre – 16, and John Elway – 15 round out the top five.
