Patriots release defensive lineman

The Patriots have released defensive lineman Louis Leonard, according to ESPNBoston.com.

Leonard was signed by the Patriots last week to add depth on a defensive line that has been plagued by injuries. Leonard played in two games with the Carolina Panthers this season before he was released on Sept. 28.
