Patriots release CB Marquice Cole

FOXBOROUGH – The Patriots released CB Marquice Cole on Thursday, according to the NFL transaction wire.

There was no corresponding roster move from the team.

The 30-year old, who signed with New England in 2012 as a free agent, has played in 13 games this season, with 10 tackles and an interception on defense and eight special-teams tackles. This is the fourth time this season the Patriots have released Cole; earlier this season, as he was dealing with injury, he was cut and re-signed to give the team an open roster spot for games. This is his first roster move since Oct. 7 when he was re-signed.
