Back on the line: Patriots re-sign center Ryan Wendell

With the restructuring of Vince Wilfork’s contract, the Patriots were freed up to make additional moves in the free agency market.

It turns out, that extra money — reportedly at more than $5 million — will in part go to center Ryan Wendell, who re-signed with the team Friday.

Wendell agreed to a 2-year deal worth $8.5 million, according to the Boston Globe’s Ben Volin. He can earn up to $1.3 million in incentives.
