FOXBOROUGH — In a continued effort to find a big-name wide receiver, the Patriots drafted Michigan’s Jeremy Gallon with the 244th overall pick in the seventh round of the NFL draft.
Gallon is the third receiver the Patriots have selected in the past two drafts, including Aaron Dobson and Josh Boyce.
Gallon, who stands 5-8 and is 185 pounds, is built more like a slot receiver. He ran a 4.45 40-yard dash in the combine and benched 225 pounds 15 times. His 3-cone drill at his workout was 7.07 seconds.
At Michigan, he caught 173 career passes for 2,704 yards and 17 touchdowns. His senior season was stellar. He caught 89 passes for 1,373 yards and nine touchdowns.
