    Ravens QB Joe Flacco was named MVP of the game and celebrated his first Super Bowl win in New Orleans.

    Despite getting an extra two points from a safety play, the 49ers were unable to secure the last 3 points they needed that would've sent the game into overtime.

    To extend their lead to 5, Ravens kicker Justin Tucker fired the football through the posts for a 38-yard field goal with 4:19 left in the game.

    San Francisco's quarterback Colin Kaepernick ran 15 yards for a touchdown. The 49ers went for a 2-point conversion that was unsuccessful, leaving the 49ers behind 31-29 in the fourth quarter. Kaepernick's rushing TD is the longest quarterback rushing touchdown in Super Bowl history.

    49ers kicker David Akers kicked a successful 34-yard field goal with 3:10 left in the third quarter.The 49ers were able to score 17 unanswered points in a 4 minute, 10 second stretch in the third. Going into the final quarter of the game, the score stood 28-23 Baltimore.

    In the first 11 seconds of the second half, Jacoby Jones had a 109-yard kickoff return for a touchdown against the 49ers. With Justin Tucker's extra point, the Ravens pulled ahead 28-6.

    Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Jacoby Jones made a 56-yard touchdown with less than two minutes left in the first half. Kicker Justin Tucker's extra point was good. The Ravens extended their lead to 21-3.

    A fight between the teams broke out in the second quarter, causing refs to interfere. Both teams were given offsetting penalties for personal fouls for unnecessary roughness.
