Two weeks ago, four games affected by a snowstorm in the Metro Atlantic area improbably went over the posted total. Logic dictated unders would prevail, but logic and gambling don’t always collide.
On Sunday, that collision happened.
The board offered gamblers nine games at 1 p.m. Eight went under the total. At 4 p.m., we had five games to choose from and three went under. In late December, when weather, injuries, and indifference are all factors, this makes sense.
One of the 4 p.m. overs occurred during Patriots-Ravens and it was a “miracle over” if you wagered the total would eclipse 45. New England led, 34-7, and with under a minute remaining, Ravens backup Tyrod Taylor threw an interception that was returned for a touchdown. Full story for BostonGlobe.com subscribers.
