Seattle’s win and cover was a collision of trends: The Seahawks were 17-4 against the spread when playing their second straight home game, and the 49ers had covered nine straight road games (coincidentally, their last non-cover away from home came in September during a 29-3 loss in Seattle).
According to sportsinsights.com, 62 percent of gamblers took the Patriots, while 60 percent selected the 49ers. But both favorites covered. Another win for the house. Full story for BostonGlobe.com subscribers.
