COLTS-RAVENS SCOUTING REPORT

Colts on offense: QB Peyton Manning completed 30 of 38 passes for 268 yards and a TD in a 23-8 wild-card win over Kansas City, although he was picked off three times. It was the 12th time in his nine-year career he has thrown three or more INTs in a game, but the first that he's won . . . Manning is 4-6 as a playoff starter.

Ravens on defense: The NFL's best defense allowed league lows of 264.1 yards and 12.6 points per game, and scored a club-record six times for good measure. The Ravens also led in turnover differential (+17), interceptions (28), and third-down conversions (28.8 percent) . . . In final seven games, the defense allowed an average of 9.1 points . . . LB Ray Lewis led team in tackles (164) for the ninth time . . . S Ed Reed has a franchise-record 27 INTs in five seasons . . . Four defenders had at least 9 1/2 sacks: DE Trevor Pryce (13.0), LB Adalius Thomas (11.0), LB Bart Scott (9.5), and LB Terrell Suggs (9.5).

Ravens on offense: QB Steve McNair is one of four QBs in NFL history with at least 3,500 rushing yards (3,558) and 30,000 passing yards (30,191) . . . T Jonathan Ogden, the first draft pick in Ravens history, has a hyperextended left big toe that kept him out of the last two games . . . Even though RB Jamal Lewis ran for 1,132 yards, the offense was ranked 25th in rushing, 17th overall . . . The Ravens were one of two teams with three players with at least 65 catches: TE Todd Heap (73), WR Derrick Mason (68), and WR Mark Clayton (67).

Colts on defense: With an eye toward the postseason, S Bob Sanders, who had knee surgery in September, played in only four regular-season games . . . DE Dwight Freeney, who had a career-low 5 1/2 sacks this season, had three tackles, two sacks, and forced a fumble last Saturday . . . Although the Colts had the NFL's worst run defense, they held Kansas City to 44 yards rushing, 126 overall.

Special teams: K Matt Stover, in his 11th season with the Ravens, is 17 of 18 at home on the season . . . Ravens rookie P Sam Koch tied for second in punts inside the 10-yard line (12) . . . Colts K Adam Vinatieri has 29 playoff FGs, second in NFL postseason history (Gary Anderson, 32).

Miscellany: Since 2000, the Ravens are an NFL-best 42-14 at home . . . Ravens coach Brian Billick is 5-2 in the playoffs, and the team is 55-7 under Billick when leading at the half. The Ravens are 9-1 since Billick fired offensive coordinator Jim Fassel and started calling the plays . . . The Ravens are 20-3 at home when Lewis runs for a score . . . The Colts are 14-16 in the playoffs, the Ravens 5-2 . . . Indianapolis has won only once -- three years ago at Kansas City -- in its last seven road playoff games . . .
