Cowboys safety Williams replaces Taylor in Pro Bowl team

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Dallas Cowboys safety Roy Williams has been added to the NFC Pro Bowl team in place of the late Sean Taylor, the National Football League said on Thursday.

Cowboys free safety Ken Hamlin, a first-time Pro Bowler, will replace Taylor as a starter for the February 10 game in Hawaii.

Former Washington Redskins safety Taylor had been selected posthumously in the team after leading the NFL in interceptions with five.

Taylor, shot dead during a break-in at his Miami home in November, was chosen through the NFL's All-Star formula combining voting by fans, coaches and players.

The addition of Williams gave the Cowboys a league-high 12 players in the NFC All-Star team. The unbeaten New England Patriots and the San Diego Chargers both have eight players in the AFC squad.

Among the Cowboys selected for the game in Hawaii were quarterback Tony Romo, running back Marion Barber, wide receiver Terrell Owens, linebacker DeMarcus Ware and tight end Jason Witten.
