Pacman: 'I might be back in Dallas'

Adam "Pacman" Jones suggested on yesterday's NFL pregame show on CBS that his days with the Dallas Cowboys may not be over. The oft-troubled cornerback said that not only does he expect to play football next season, "I think I might be back in Dallas." Host James Brown then asked, "And you have an inkling that Jerry Jones will give you another shot?" Jones grinned and said, "Yeah, I do," but didn't offer any details. Cowboys spokesman Rich Dalrymple said the team had no comment. Dallas released Jones last week after a turbulent season in which he was suspended for six games for an off-field scuffle and made little impact on the field.Report: Ryan to interview with Jets
The New York Jets will interview Baltimore Ravens defensive coordinator Rex Ryan today about their coaching vacancy, a person familiar with the search told the Associated Press. Ryan, whose defense forced three turnovers in Baltimore's 13-10 victory at Tennessee yesterday, would be the seventh known candidate interviewed by the Jets in their search to replace the fired Eric Mangini . . . Rob Chudzinski, the Cleveland Browns offensive coordinator for the past two seasons, is interviewing with 49ers coach Mike Singletary for San Francisco's vacant offensive coordinator job . . . Shanahan agrees to return to Devils
Brendan Shanahan is heading back to the New Jersey Devils, the team with which he started his NHL career more than 20 years ago. Shanahan, an unrestricted free agent since July after his one-year deal with the Rangers expired, agreed in principle to a deal with the Devils. He will turn 40 this month . . . An international squad led by Jaromir Jagr defeated a Russian team, 7-6, in the Kontinental Hockey League's All-Star Game in Moscow. Slovakia's Marcel Hossa scored three goals for the winners . . . Blazers toppled by Titans in NLL debut
After going 12 years without an indoor lacrosse franchise, Boston will have to wait at least another week for a victory. The Blazers, debuting in the National Lacrosse League, fell to the New York Titans, 19-14, before 3,208 at the Prudential Center in Newark. Brenden Thenhaus scored the Blazers' first NLL goal, but Boston trailed, 5-1, after one quarter. Thenhaus led the Blazers with four goals and four assists, and top overall draft pick Daryl Veltman had a goal and six assists. Pat Maddalena scored four goals for the Titans, who will face the Blazers at TD Banknorth Garden Saturday.

Murray beats Roddick in Qatar Open
Andy Murray won his second straight Qatar Open by defeating Andy Roddick, 6-4, 6-2, in Doha. Murray showed no signs of a back injury that bothered him during Friday's semifinal win over Roger Federer. He converted all three break points against Roddick in the tune-up to the Australian Open . . . Venus Williams dominated Russia's Vera Zvonareva, 6-2, 6-2, to give Team Americas a victory over Russia in the Hong Kong team tournament . . . Sidney Wood, who in 1931 became the only uncontested winner of a Wimbledon final when his opponent couldn't play because of an injury, died in Palm Beach Fla., the International Tennis Hall of Fame and Museum said. Raich wins giant slalom; Ligety is ninth
Austria's Benjamin Raich won the men's World Cup giant slalom in Adelboden, Switzerland, when American Bode Miller failed to complete a race for the eighth time in 16 events. Raich's two-run time of 2 minutes 24.95 seconds gave the reigning Olympic GS champion his 33d World Cup win and the lead in the discipline and overall standings. Miller, the defending overall champion, skied off the course before the halfway point during the morning run after he caught a gate and couldn't correct his line. Fellow American Ted Ligety, the defending GS champion, was 28th in the morning but was second fastest in the afternoon to finish ninth . . . Tina Maze of Slovenia won a women's World Cup giant slalom in Maribor, Slovenia, with a combined time of 2:45.15. American Lindsey Vonn finished seventh . . . Steven Holcomb led the four-man bobsled after the first day of the US National Championship at Lake Placid, N.Y. Holcomb and his crew of Justin Olsen, Steve Mesler, and Curt Tomasevicz combined for a two-run time of 1:48.44 to lead by .80 seconds going into today's final heats. John Napier was in second in 1:49.24 . . . Shauna Rohbock of the US captured her first World Cup win of the season in the two-man bobsled in Koenigssee, Germany.
