Brandon Marshall’s feud with the Broncos continued Saturday night, with the disgruntled wide receiver left in Denver as the Broncos lost to the Seahawks, 27-13, in an exhibition game at Seattle.

“Everybody who was ready and able to play in this game was here. And everybody we deemed not ready and able stayed back home,’’ Broncos first-year coach Josh McDaniels said late Saturday night.

The coach added he “absolutely’’ expected Marshall to participate when the Broncos return to practice tomorrow.

Marshall spent two days last week working almost exclusively with the scout team after saying he was nowhere near mastering the new offense.

He is upset about the Broncos’ refusal to redo his contract after consecutive 100-catch seasons or to trade him. He’s also angry about their handling of his acquittal on battery charges last week.

Players were told by a staffer not to say they were happy for Marshall.

Marshall boycotted the team’s offseason workouts, at first to recover from March 31 hip surgery, then in protest of his contract and what he felt was the team’s misdiagnosis of his hip injury.

He pulled up lame with a hamstring injury three days into training camp and missed two weeks before returning to practice Aug. 16.

Palmer taking it slow
Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer did light tossing but did not practice with the team.

Palmer, who has a sprained left ankle, is questionable for Thursday’s game against the Rams. He missed much of last season with an elbow injury.

In other news out of Cincinnati, receiver Chad Ochocinco won’t have to kick extra points anymore. The Bengals signed rookie kicker Sam Swank from Wake Forest, giving them another option while Shayne Graham recovers from a groin injury.

Vick getting ready
Michael Vick showed no signs of rust during the Eagles’ practice, throwing tight spirals with plenty of velocity.

“How does Michael look in the offense? He looks pretty good,’’ offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg said. “It was a fairly seamless transition, even though he hadn’t played for two years, because of the terminology.’’

Mornhinweg said coach Andy Reid will probably make a decision tomorrow on whether Vick will make his preseason debut Thursday at home against the Jaguars.

ESPN.com reported that Vick will be in Newport News, Va., Thursday for his bankruptcy court hearing, but will fly back to Philadelphia to be eligible to play.

Beason may be ready
Panthers Pro Bowl middle linebacker Jon Beason left Saturday’s loss to Miami with a left knee injury. Beason insisted he had not suffered a season-ending torn anterior cruciate ligament. Beason’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, said the injury was a strained medial collateral ligament, and he was optimistic his client could return for the start of the regular season . . . Buccaneers linebacker Angelo Crowell will miss the season with a torn biceps muscle. The seventh-year pro was hurt during Saturday’s win at Jacksonville. The former Buffalo defensive captain signed as a free agent after sitting out 2008 because of a knee injury . . . Seahawks center Chris Spencer injured his leg against Denver and will have tests to determine how long he will be out.
