Jason Campbell will remain the Redskins’ starting quarterback.

Coach Jim Zorn said yesterday he will stick with Campbell for Monday night’s game against the Eagles.

Campbell was benched at halftime of Sunday’s 14-6 loss to the Chiefs. Todd Collins played the second half, but neither QB was able to mount a touchdown drive against a defense that entered the game ranked last in the NFL.

The Redskins also signed tackle Levi Jones to add depth to an offensive line missing starters Chris Samuels and Randy Thomas.

Jones was the No. 10 overall pick in the 2002 draft and played seven seasons with the Bengals, but he had knee, back, and leg problems in recent years and was released in May.

Bears, Cutler agree
The Bears and quarterback Jay Cutler agreed on a two-year contract extension that runs through the 2013 season.

A person familiar with the negotiations said the deal includes approximately $20 million guaranteed and roughly $30 million in new money. The person spoke on the condition of anonymity because the terms were not released.

Acquired in a blockbuster trade from Denver in the offseason, the Pro Bowler has completed 110 of 172 passes with 1,201 yards, 10 touchdowns, and 7 interceptions while leading Chicago to a 3-2 record.

With a 64.0 completion rate and 240.2 yards passing per game, he is on pace to set club records for a season.

The Buccaneers, who play the Patriots Sunday in London, placed Askew on the non-football injury list.

Trufant practices
Marcus Trufant practiced with the Seahawks for the first time since injuring his lower back in late July. The Pro Bowl cornerback in 2007 says he hopes to play in Seattle’s next game, Nov. 1 at Dallas. Outside linebacker Leroy Hill practiced for the first time since he tore his groin in Seattle’s opener Sept. 13 . . . Harris played in 16 games for the Bengals last season . . . A member of the Chargers’ game-day staff died 12 hours after falling out of the press box and sustaining an apparent head injury before the team’s game against the Broncos Monday night.
