The NFL said yesterday it would review allegations involving the Minnesota Vikings’ Brett Favre, who the website Deadspin said sent racy messages and photos to a former game hostess while he was the Jets’ quarterback in 2008.

The league action comes one day after the site posted a video that included below-the-waist photos, said to be of Favre.

The Vikings will travel to New York to play the Jets Monday night.

“We are reviewing the matter,’’ league spokesman Greg Aiello said when asked about reports that a person alleged to be Favre sent voicemails and lewd pictures to Jenn Sterger.

Asked to respond to the Deadspin report Thursday, Favre said: “I’m not getting into that. I’ve got my hands full with the Jets and am trying to get some timing down with our guys, so that’s all I’m going to discuss.’’

Also yesterday, Deadspin reported Favre also pursued two female massage therapists who worked part time for the team, according to one of the women. Deadspin did not identify the women, but a Jets spokesman said the team has contact information for the two women and was giving that information to the league.

The women were two of 17 massage therapists the Jets used during what they called two intensive recovery days in training camp in 2008.

According to Deadspin, one woman exchanged phone numbers with Favre, and the other woman told the website that the quarterback sent “nasty’’ text messages and invited both women to his hotel room.

Favre, who turns 41 tomorrow, and his wife, Deanna, have been married 14 years. He became a grandfather in the spring.

Deadspin reported Thursday that a man alleged to be Favre contacted Sterger on MySpace and began leaving her voicemails. The website posted a video of the voicemails and several graphic pictures allegedly sent to Sterger’s cellphone.

Revis ready ‘right now’
Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis said it’s his “best bet’’ to wait until tomorrow or Monday before deciding whether he can play against Randy Moss and the Vikings Monday night. His hamstring certainly had him feeling optimistic yesterday.

“I think I could play right now,’’ Revis said. “There’d be no doubt.’’

Coach Rex Ryan said Revis hadn’t told him that he’s 100 percent yet, adding that the All-Pro cornerback will make the final call. Revis injured the hamstring while covering Moss on a touchdown catch in the first half of the Jets’ 28-14 win over the Patriots in Week 2. Revis hasn’t played since.

Outside linebacker Calvin Pace is on track to make his regular-season debut after breaking his right foot during the preseason.

Haynesworth tragedy
The half-brother of Redskins defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth was killed in a motorcycle crash in Nashville, police said. Lance McCoy, 23, was speeding Thursday night when he collided with a car pulling out of a parking lot. Police said a preliminary investigation found McCoy’s excessive speed was the main cause of the crash. The car’s driver, Benjamin Smith, 27, of Nashville, told police he didn’t see the motorcycle until impact. Haynesworth is a former member of the Titans. Redskins coach Mike Shanahan said Haynesworth left the team to spend time with his family in Nashville, and he didn’t know whether the defensive lineman would play tomorrow against Green Bay.

Eagles tap QB Kolb
Quarterback Kevin Kolb will replace the injured Michael Vick when the Eagles visit San Francisco tomorrow. Vick didn’t practice all week because of a rib cartilage injury, and won’t travel with the team. Vick was hurt in the first quarter of Philadelphia’s 17-12 loss last Sunday to the Redskins. It was a costly loss for the Eagles: Pro Bowl cornerback Asante Samuel and wide receiver Riley Cooper sustained concussions and will not play against the 49ers. But running back LeSean McCoy is expected to play despite a broken rib . . . The Bears officially listed quarterback Jay Cutler as out for tomorrow’s game at Carolina . . . Raiders running back Darren McFadden has been ruled out of tomorrow’s game against San Diego with a right hamstring injury. Backup running back Michael Bennett and left guard Robert Gallery will also miss the game with hamstring injuries, and linebacker Thomas Howard is out with a knee injury . . . The Panthers will be without top receiver Steve Smith and starting safety Sherrod Martin against the Bears because of injuries.

So long, Champ?

Could Champ Bailey’s days in Denver be numbered? The nine-time Pro Bowl cornerback is starting to think so. Bailey and his agent were close to hashing out a four-year extension when the Broncos broke off negotiations this week. Bailey, 32, is in the final season of a seven-year deal and can become an unrestricted free agent. He suggested this week that he wouldn’t be surprised if he’s traded by the Oct. 19 deadline . . . The Lions signed starting guard Rob Sims to a four-year contract extension . . . Former 49ers running back Glen Coffee was arrested on a gun charge in the Florida Panhandle Thursday night and released from jail. Coffee left the 49ers in August, saying he wanted to focus on ministry.
