Most likely to receive undeserved scorn
Give some credit to Devin McCourty. The coaching staff has, at times, put him in a position to succeed by minimizing one-on-one situations while at cornerback and giving him help from the safety position. But he’s been burned for seemingly blown coverages when he’s often expecting that help to arrive. And now that he’s playing at safety again, he’s sharing the blame for the lack of communication out in center field. Certainly McCourty deserves some criticism, but not nearly as much as he takes.
