Brady returns on a national stage
The 2009 season opener against the Buffalo Bills marked Tom Brady’s return to action after being sidelined for the 2008 season with a knee injury. He started slow, but ramped it up when needed. Brady completed 39 of 53 passes for 378 yards with two touchdowns and the Patriots won 25-24.
Brady was named AFC Player of the Week after that performance, although the Patriots had to hold off a game Bills team by scoring two touchdowns in the final 2:06.
