CATCHING UP WITH OLD FRIENDS:
FORMER PATRIOTS IN THE PLAYOFFS
Atlanta Falcons cornerback Asante Samuel played for New England from the beginning of his professional career in 2003 through 2007 for five full seasons, including a pair of Super Bowl championship seasons.
This is Samuel’s first year with the Falcons, and despite a shoulder injury that kept him on the bench while the Falcons lost to the Panthers in early December, Samuel has had five interceptions and 36 tackles this season. He left the Patriots in 2008 and played four seasons in Philadelphia before moving to Atlanta.
