Patriots are 6-1 favorites to win Super Bowl

The Patriots lost Wes Welker, signed injury-prone Aqib Talib and Danny Amendola, and are favorites to win the 2014 Super Bowl, according to The Linemakers and lasvegassun.com.

Big-name free agents remain on the market (Ed Reed, anyone?), but the Patriots are 6-1, followed by Peyton Manning’s Broncos — Welker’s new team — and the 49ers. The Broncos and 49ers odds differ slightly from website to website.

The defending champion Ravens, who have been ravaged by free agency (losing starters Anquan Boldin, Dannell Ellerbe, Paul Kruger and Cary Williams) are 14-1.
