Adrian Wilson has something to prove with Patriots

After seeing his snaps reduced in 2012, which seemed to portend his exit from Arizona, veteran safety Adrian Wilson signed with New England for the chance to win, but also seems intent on proving that he still has plenty to contribute on the field.

Wilson, 33, noted that he may not be as fast as he once was, but he is smarter now.

“I used to take ridiculous chances on the football field,” he said. “Just try to make a big play. I think now it’s different because you know formations and you know tendencies.”

Since arriving in Foxborough for the start of the Patriots offseason program, Wilson has been shuttling between Gillette Stadium and his hotel, the “new guy” for the first time in a dozen years.. Full story for BostonGlobe.com subscribers.
