Jerod Mayo takes workmanlike approach to offseason

Jerod Mayo rarely strays too far from Gillette Stadium, and has been at the team’s facility getting in his preseason work for weeks. On Wednesday, he said attendance in the offseason workout program has been good, with veterans and younger players alike all taking part.

Not only does the work help build camaraderie, it also helps to be in the weight room with a group, so guys can push one another.

Now the year’s rookies have been added to the mix. Mayo called it a group effort to help the new players get acclimated. “What’s that old saying,” he said, “it takes a community to raise a child? That’s how we do it here.”
