Tim Tebow joins Patriots
Quarterback Tim Tebow joined the New England Patriots on Tuesday for the start of the team's mandatory minicamp. Tebow was signed as a free agent.
Tim Tebow got right into the action, calling signals in a huddle as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Josh McDaniels directed the session.
Before minicamp began, Patriots coach Bill Belichick spoke to the media but had little to say about the acquisition of Tebow. "He is a talented player, who's smart and who works hard," Belichick said.
Tom Brady (left) remains the Patriots starting quarterback. Tebow projects to be a third-string QB.
Tebow was drafted in 2010 by the Broncos when Josh McDaniels was the coach. He is now the Patriots' offensive coordinator.
Tebow has 361 career pass attempts and 173 completions. He's thrown for 17 touchdowns and been intercepted nine times.
The Patriots three quarterbacks heading into July's training camp project to be Tim Tebow (center), Tom Brady (right), and Ryan Mallett.
Tebow also has 197 career rushing attempts for 989 yards and 12 touchdowns.
The Patriots' mandatory minicamp will be held for three days this week.
