FOXBOROUGH — Patriots coach Bill Belichick said his team has to do a better job handling situations such as the third and 15 the defense faced at the end of the third quarter of Sunday's loss to the Bengals, with Cincinnati backed up against its goal line.

The Bengals ran their play quickly, before New England could get all of its players in position, and quarterback Andy Dalton hit Marvin Jones with a 28-yard sideline pass.

“It’s a play that we’ve dealt with before — the other team is in a long-yardage situation, just goes on a quick count like Cincinnati did, and just runs everybody down the field,” Belichick said. “They did a good job of it, they got set, they snapped the ball quickly.”
