FOXBOROUGH – Asked to slow down record-setting receiver Josh Gordon for most of Sunday’s game, Patriots cornerback Aqib Talib got off to a fast start, holding the Browns star to no catches for the first 25 minutes.
Gordon ended up getting his, and then some — seven catches for 151 yards, including an 80-yard touchdown — but because it followed a 27-26 Patriots win, Talib was quick to offer praise, looking back on his battle with respect and appreciation.
“It was great,” Talib said. “He’s a hell of a player. He’s young , he’s going to make some noise in this league, man, he’s pretty good.”
