DENVER — He is not known for his rhetoric, preferring to let his actions speak.
Yet as the AFC Championship game approached, Broncos coach John Fox asked wide receiver Wes Welker to address the team on Saturday night.
Welker’s impassioned plea to seize the moment, his strategic game-planning advice, and his collision with Patriots cornerback Aqib Talib were all factors in Denver’s 26-16 triumph over New England and Welker’s return to the Super Bowl in his first year with the Broncos, following six seasons as a Patriot.
“I spent all day Saturday just putting something together and watching a little film and different things like that of how I think the game needed to be played,’’ said Welker.
