Patriots’ Caserio declines Dolphins’ GM job

The Dolphins must have liked what they heard from Patriots’ director of player personnel Nick Caserio during his two interviews with the club for their general manager opening, because multiple reports Saturday night said Caserio was offered the job.

But not long after that news surfaced, follow-ups reports said Caserio was staying put in New England.

Miami moved quickly with Caserio, the eighth person interviewed for the opening. He first met with the team Friday, then was one of three men to get a second interview Saturday, according to the Dolphins.

Caserio, Titans’ vice president of football operations Lake Dawson, and Buccaneers director of player personnel Dennis Hickey met with team owner Stephen Ross Saturday, while the team’s current assistant GM, Brian Gaine, had his second interview Friday night.
