Broncos showing interest
McDaniels on list; Pioli, KC to meet

Moving quickly to assemble candidates to replace fired head coach Mike Shanahan, the Denver Broncos are expected to formally request permission to interview Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels, according to an NFL source.
The 32-year-old McDaniels, considered one of the league's up-and-coming coaches, just concluded his eighth NFL season, all with the Patriots. In addition to coordinating the offense, he also worked with the quarterbacks.
The Broncos' job is highly regarded in NFL circles, because of owner Pat Bowlen and Pro Bowl quarterback Jay Cutler. The Broncos have already scheduled interviews with New York Giants defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo tomorrow and Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive backs coach Raheem Morris for Monday.
The Cleveland Browns requested permission to speak with McDaniels earlier this week.
McDaniels isn't the only member of the Patriots who is on the radar of other NFL teams, as vice president of player personnel Scott Pioli interviewed with the Browns Wednesday.
Pioli also has a scheduled interview with the Kansas City Chiefs. It appears unlikely Pioli's situation will be resolved until he meets with the Chiefs.
