FOXBOROUGH -- Welcome to Gillette Stadium, where the Boston Patriots host the Buffalo Bills in their regular-season opener on ESPN's Monday Night Football (7 p.m.)

Yes, it's safe to call them the Boston Patriots tonight as this is one of four AFL legacy games the Patriots will participate in this season. The NFL is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the the league, which the Patriots and Bills were original members (the Patriots hosted the AFL's first regular-season game on Sept. 9, 1960 at Boston University).

To celebrate, the Patriots will wear their throwback jerseys and helmets, while the Patriots' All-Time team -- selected by the Patriots' Hall of Fame nominating committee -- will be honored at halftime of tonight's game.

Much more to come throughout the night.
