Report: Edelman has broken arm

Patriots rookie wide receiver Julian Edelman suffered a broken arm in Sunday's game vs. the Titans, according to a report in the Boston Herald.

Edelman had 21 receptions for 188 yards in five games this season. He was tackled after catching a 4-yard pass in the fourth quarter from backup quarterback Brian Hoyer and did not play again.

If Edelman is out, it would leave the Patriots with only Randy Moss, Wes Welker and Sam Aiken on the depth chart at receiver following the release Tuesday of Joey Galloway. It's possible rookie Brandon Tate could be activated after coming off the non-football injury list.

Edelman has also returned kicks this season, including a long punt return of 35 yards on Sunday. He has six punt returns for an average 10.5 yards and seven kickoff returns for 157 yards.
