Like yesterday, the Patriots had several players not present at the portion of practice open to the media. And, like yesterday, you really can't take too much from the list of players not there. The bye week is a time to give veterans time and manage injuries that may not be serious.

But anyway, here were the 13 guys not around:

WR Julian Edelman
RB Fred Taylor
CB Shawn Springs
RB Sammy Morris
RB BenJarvus Green-Ellis
RB Laurence Maroney
LB Jerod Mayo
LB Junior Seau
OT Matt Light
DT Vince Wilfork
DT Myron Pryor
DL Ty Warren
DL Jarvis Green

Only Maroney and Pryor were at practice yesterday but not there today. The Patriots are again practicing on the game field at Gillette Stadium. Coach Bill Belichick was pleased with yesterday's rain, which gave the Patriots a chance to prepare for any inclement weather they'll face in the future.
