Bill Belichick spoke with the media today on his weekly teleconference and was asked about the Saints explosive offense, which leads the National Football League.

Belichick said it would not come as any great shock if the Saints eclipsed the offensive record the Patriots set in their 16-0 season of 2007.

"It wouldn't surprise me if the Saints set whatever records there are, because I can't think of too many teams -- I can't think of any, really -- that are any more explosive than this team is.'"

The Saints, led by quarterback Drew Brees, are averaging a league-leading 36.9 points and 420.5 yards per game.

`"'ve talked about the [2001] Rams and I've talked about the Chargers in the early 80s," Belichick said, "But these guys, they can run with anybody."
