DUXBURY-- Patriots running back Laurence Maroney spent this morning with the students at Duxbury Middle School as part of the NFL's Play 60 campain, to encourage children to get 60 minutes of physical activity a day.

Twelve-year old Tyler Hutchinson won the NFL's "Take A Player to School" sweepstakes and arrived at Duxbury Middle this morning with Maroney in a limo. The two were greeted by cheering students at the entrance of the school.

The school gym was decorated in posters welcoming Maroney, who signed autographs, answered questions and led students in various games and activities.

Hutchinson described his day with Maroney as "pretty cool." And Maroney seemed to have just as much fun on his off day.

"It was fun to come out here and play with the kids and be around them," he said. "It made me go back to my middle school days. It's just all about having fun."

In the last few weeks, Maroney has become a more consistent part of the Patriots offense. He had 20 carries for 82 yards and a touchdown in a 27-17 win against Miami last week. This season he is averaging 4.3 yards a carry and with last week's success, Maroney said he stays motivated.

"I think I played very well. I can always get better," Maroney said. "I always find ways to get better and try to improve from week to week. It was definitely a great weekend for me, a great game, just great overall for my spirit. You see I'm in a great mood. Coming out here and seeing the kids and seeing everybody, like the fans, still in my corner and just excited to see me actually just makes me feel that much better that fans in New England still love me and still want me here and are still in my corner."
