Patriots defense preparing for Indy challenge
FOXBOROUGH -- The Patriots are 8-5 against the Indianapolis Colts since Bill Belichick took over and 1-4 in the last five meetings, including last season's 18-15 loss.
As the Patriots prepare for the undefeated Colts this week, there will be plenty for the Patriots to study.
"With playing Indy, it’s kind of like you have to quickly change gears, get ready on Monday to play them," Patriots linebacker Tully Banta-Cain said. "It’s not like you start preparing on Wednesday. You’ve got to start getting ready now."
The Colts are fourth in the league in passing yards a game (400.4). They are also averaging 27.1 points a game. With Peyton Manning leading the offense, there isn't much the Patriots can show him that would be a surprise, Patriots linebacker Adalius Thomas said.
"You could show him 13 players," Thomas said with a laugh.
Thomas added: "He knows so much and he's such a student of the game. He studies so much that any little thing or clue that you give him, he's going to pick up on it."
