Ty Law is returning to the NFL, and his new employer has a connection to his Patriot past.

According to a report by ESPN's Adam Schefter, the 35-year-old cornerback, who spent the first 10 years of his career with the Patriots, has agreed to a contract with the Denver Broncos. Schefter reports that he will fly to Denver today to take a physical and barring any issues, will sign with the team.

The Broncos are coached by Josh McDaniels, who was on the Patriots' staff during Law's final four seasons in New England (2001-04). McDaniels made his reputation as an offensive coach, but he had responsibilities with the defense early during his time with the Patriots and worked with the defensive backs in 2003.

This won't be the first time Law has joined a team in November. Last season, he signed with the Jets near midseason and made his debut in the Jets' 34-31 victory over the Patriots at Gillette Stadium on Nov. 13. He spent much of that game covering Randy Moss.

Law will join Jabar Gaffney, Brandon Gorin, LaMont Jordan, Daniel Graham, Russ Hochstein, Lonie Paxton, and Le Kevin Smith as ex-Patriots on the Denver roster.
