The Power Index: Week 8
Sorry for the delay on this one. I promise to get this on a more regular schedule next week (when I'll also reintroduce some of the film-study stuff I did in the past), with the Colts game on deck.
If you didn't see it last week, here's an explanation of my Power Index rankings. Let's get started ...
The Saints retain the top spot in this week's edition of the Power Index, but their lead over New England has shrunk to just 0.58, after some sloppy play in a win over Atlanta on Monday night. And believe it or not, the Patriots have the top-ranked defense. The top 4 overall remained the same, with the Ravens moving into the bottom of the Top 5 to replace the Packers.
The Cowboys are this week's riser, going from 16th -- right in the middle of the league -- into the Top 10, and passing their slumping division rival Giants, who fell from sixth to 10th.
On the other end of the spectrum, during the week their general manager was fired, the Browns hit rock bottom here, tumbling from 29th to 32nd. The rest of the list ...
