And now, it's both of them!!!!
This is the first time in league history that two teams have made it through three-quarters of the season unblemished, and until this week, it's been mostly politically-correct garbage coming out of both places.
Y'know ... We're not worried about 16-0. It's more important to gear up for the playoffs. Blah. Blah. BLAH.
Well, the other day, Drew Brees came with an open admission that he wants to gun for perfection. And now, Reggie Wayne is saying the same thing about his team.
"Whenever you get the opportunity to get records and history, it's always good," Wayne said Thursday. "Is it one of our goals? Not necessarily. We have the main goal and that's to [get] to the Super Bowl. But if that particular goal [16-0] is on the way and we can accomplish it, let's go ahead and knock it down."
Wayne did say that coach Jim Caldwell -- who has said that once home-field advantage is locked up, and it can be as early as this week, priorities might change -- could shoot all of that down.
But that would be no fun.
